Meet Reed Foster

Discover my journey from a South Texas farm to Texas Tech, combining deep agricultural roots with strategic business insight to drive growth and innovation.

A legacy forged in the soil

As a fourth-generation farmer from South Texas, I’ve been immersed in agriculture my entire life. Growing up, I was actively involved in both farming and ranching with my family. Our operation began with row crops, but my brother and I successfully transitioned to hay and turf production, adapting to new market demands. I now manage the business side, handling invoicing, bookkeeping, and payroll, which has deepened my understanding of financial management and daily operations.

Entrepreneurship from a young age

Beyond my family’s farm, I’ve gained invaluable experience working with other ranching families, observing and contributing to diverse management practices. I also launched my own cattle operation at a young age, growing it into a substantial herd. This experience has been instrumental in developing my leadership, decision-making, and entrepreneurial skills, all while nurturing a strong connection to the land and livestock.

Bridging agriculture and business

I am currently a student at Texas Tech University, where I initially pursued agriculture before discovering a profound interest in business. I am now working towards a degree in Business Management through the Rawls College of Business, with coursework focused on leadership, operations, and organizational strategy. My passion lies in combining my agricultural background with sound business principles to drive growth and innovation within the industry.
